IES exam is one of the most popular and top level competitive examination among engineering graduates. IES stands for Indian Engineering Services and is conducted by UPSC to fill up various technical and managerial vacancies of Government of India. Key Features of IES

Educational qualification for IES Exam
- A Bachelors degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) from a recognized university or equivalent.
- M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Electronics, Wireless Communications, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain posts / services only.
Age Limit For IES Exam
The candidates applying for the IES exam must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1 January of the year they are taking the exam. Age relaxation is also there to certain categories of candidates as per government norms.

As compared to other competitive exams, IES exam centers list is very short. Candidates can select a centre of their choice until the capacity of that centre is attained. Candidates who would like to appear for IES exam can only apply online by visiting UPSC’s official website. The application fee for General/OBC category male candidates is ₹200, while it is free for female and reserved categories applicants.
It is very tough to crack IES exam. One should start preparations pretty early to get success. There are many candidates who start preparation from 1st year of their degree course.
