JEE Main is one of the most popular engineering entrance exam conducted every year to offer admissions to famous education institutions in the country. JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination. Eligibility Criteria For JEE Main
To appear in Jee Main, the candidates should have passed class 12th examination or equivalent with the following subjects combination – Physics, Mathematics and chemistry. Final year class 12th students can also apply for the exam. The upper age limit to be eligible for JEE Main is 25. Five years of age relaxation is there for SC, ST and PwD candidates. A candidate can attempt JEE Main a maximum of 3 times and that too, in a consecutive years.
How To Apply For JEE Main
Application procedure is easy and the candidates have to fill up the application form via online registration. The whole application process combined of 3 simple stage- fill up the application form, upload scanned images and payment of application fee. While filling up the form make sure to keep the following things ready-
- Scanned copies of your current photograph, signature and thumb impression
- Class 10th and 12th related information, details/certificates
- Details related to Net banking / Debit Card / Credit Card so that you can pay instantly.
- Aadhaar card number ( Not required for candidates of Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir).
That’s all. Now you are ready to apply for JEE Main. To initiate the registration process log on to the official website, jeemain.nic.in. And click on the “Apply for JEE (Main)” under “New Candidate Registration. A new page would be opened with a “Proceed To Apply” button. Click there and enter all the required details there like Nationality, State of Eligibility, State, D.O.B, Gender etc.
You also need to enter your name, father/mother name, exam center name, and academic details in the middle of the registration process. At last you need to pay the exam fee to complete the registration process successfully. Immediately an acknowledgment Page would be generated. Take a print out of it, as the page is crucial for all the further communications. Along with the printed copy, you also need keep safe your login details and password. These details are required to download JEE Mains admit card and to see result.
Key Points To Remember
- Only those candidates who pass JEE Main with prescribed cut off can appear for the JEE Adavanced.
- Candidates interested in appearing for JEE can apply only through online mode. No other/offline mode of application is there.
