Today Xiaomi has launched another youth centric phone in India at a starting price of Rs 9,999. This budget phone is new addition to Xiaomi’s selfie-focused Y-series in India. In the same event, Xiaomi also announced the global availability of MIUI 10, which is the company’s new user-interface.
The all new Redmi Y2 will be avaiable in two varients 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage at Rs 9,999, and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage at Rs 12,999. Redmi Y2 sports a 5.99-inch HD+ FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone comes with three colour options – Dark grey, Rose Gold and Gold. It is powered by Snapdragon 675 Processor which improve the performance level of the phone by 37% than the Redmi Y1.
Redmi Y2 runs MIUI 9.5, which is based on Android Oreo. The phone has Face Unlock and Fingerprint sensors and both are AI based.
Redmi Y2 comes with a vertical dual camera setup at the back. The rear camera setup consists of the primary 12-megapixel sensor and secondary 5-megapixel sensor that come with a 1.25 micron pixel size and AI-based capabilities. And on the front, it features a 16-megapixel selfie Super Pixel sensor with features such as an LED selfie-light, AI Beautify 4.0, and Face Unlock capabilities.
Connectivity options on the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB 2.0. Other features included 3080mAh battery, dual sim, micro-SD card slot and many more.
The first sale of Redmi Y2 will be held on June 12 at 12:00 in the noon via Amazon.in and Xiaomi’s official website Mi.com, People interested in buying the device will have to register in advance. Buyers can get Rs 500 instant discount under the first sale offer when they buy it through ICICI Bank credit or debit cards. Apart from that, Airtel users can get Rs 1,800 cashback and up to 240GB free data on using their SIM card with Redmi Y2. Xiaomi is also giving a free protective case with the smartphone.
